May 10, 2008: Lord Rynem Defeated - Moonglow is Saved!
Screenshot of Rynem's death

It is incredible! Our lands are saved!

I was planning on spending a lazy morning in bed today but was awaked by the excited shouts of fellow PC Realm citizens... Lord Rynem has been defeated! I could scarce believe my ears and immediately jumped up to get the story.

Word spreads quickly in our lands but in case you haven't yet heard... the Peace Country Royals have again risen to challenge Lord Rynem, this time bringing him to his demise! His evil no longer rules the land of Ilshenar, the Meers will no longer feel his oppression, and we no longer have to fear Rynem's beasts overrunning our beautiful Moonglow!

There were many brave mages, warriors, animal tamers, archers, necromancers, and even an alchemist who battled with Lord Rynem in an attempt to save our lands and the people of Ilshenar. Upon speaking with Mrs. Paragon, the Meers mentioned witnessing the following citizens risked life and limb to come to our aid: Mystica, Dirk, Chance, Jello Biafra, Jodward, Bababouie, and Dricuss Freebank. I certainly hope I have not missed anyone!

However, the final battle that freed us all was fought and won by Chance and Dirk, with their faithful pets! If you happen to pass them on the streets, please thank them for their bravery.

Mrs. Paragon has confirmed that the Meers are fulfilling their promise to link the lands of Ilshenar to our moongates. They are presently working on this and the gate locations should be accessible from our moongates shortly. This is so exciting!! I don't know about the rest of you but for an adventurer such as myself... this is an incredible time to be alive!

April 28, 2008: Lord Rynem's identity unveiled!

Firstly, I must apologize for my delay in continuing my documentation of events as they unfold. Without getting into the gruesome details, my wounds developed horrible infections that almost cost me my life... again!

All is now well and I have even been able to travel to Ilshenar to lay eyes on these mutated Paragon creatures. I must say, they are beautiful... Lucas was right, they do appear to be living gold!

So, enough about me, the real reason for this article is to tell of three brave adventurers who, with their pets, took on Lord Rynem and defeated him! Although I have heard of many who ventured to Lord Rynem's hide-out only to meet their demise, it was the guild calling themselves PCR (Peace Country Royals) who ultimately took him down. I must tip my hat to Mystica, Chance and Dirk for their bravery... and of course to their faithful white wyrm companions!

However! Upon his death, Lord Rynem shed his humanoid form and took up his true form, revealing his true identity to be that of the Harrower! This explains the depth of his evil and power! This transformation presented a whole new set of challenges for the guildmates; death came swiftly. In his true form, Rynem has a protective force field of tentacles and some special magical abilities of his own that, at the time of this writing, no one has found a way to overcome.

Although a simple adventurer and scribe, with only enough combat skill to protect myself from a hungry mongbat, I simply HAD to see Rynem for myself. With a crudely drawn map I headed through the foreign lands of Ilshenar to his last known hide-out. Much to my great disappointment... the mighty Lord Rynem was nowhere in sight.

On my way back through the tunnel to Moonglow, I had to hide between the crystals as the tunnel has been overrun with paragon headless ones! Nasty little creatures that will steal anything they can get their hands on, so be forewarned... don't die down there or you are likely to find your corpse looted when you return from ressurection!

I suppose it is up to our citizens to again seek out Lord Rynem, wherever he has decided to hide-out now, and defeat him once and for all! I will write more as events transpire but please do hurry, I have come to love Moonglow City and I think I can speak for all... we don't want to lose the city to Lord Rynem and his beasts!

April 15, 2008: Ilshenar Discovered!

Although unable to travel such a perilous journey, under strict healer's orders, I hear tell that a number of citizens joined forces and pushed back a great number of the monsters lurking beneath Moonglow, and were able to verify Lucas' claims of a new land!

These are incredible times we are living in, there hasn't been a discovery of this magnitude since before I was born, when the lands of Malas were first accessed! Exciting, very exciting indeed!

From my interviews with several returning adventurers, Lucas' wife has become an ambassador to a new race of human-like beings in the lands of Ilshenar. Meers, as they call themselves, are a powerful yet peaceful people, and as such they will do all that they can to prevent evil beings from passing into their lands... so, beware to our Necromancers and Theives, your negative karma is bound to get you killed on sight!

The Meers have been under great oppression by an incredibly powerful leader of evil, named Lord Rynem. It is this Lord Rynem that is to blame for the sinkhole and monsters infiltrating Moonglow. Fortunately, for the time being the Meers have secured their side of the teleport gate that leads to Trammel, and have managed to prevent Lord Rynem from getting through to our land... for now.

We must assist the Meers and search the lands of Ilshenar to find and defeat Lord Rynem, not only for the sake of the peoples of Ilshenar, but also for all the inhabitants of Trammel, Feluccia, Malas, and Tokuno. Lord Rynem intends to spread his evil over all lands, and to annihilate us all!

If we succeed in finding and killing Lord Rynem, the Meers will gladly ally with us, providing gate travel between our lands. They have also suggested they would be willing to introduce us to their allies, the elves. I must say... I hope to live to see that day!

April 11, 2008: Moonglow Travel Advisory!

There have been reports of very large spiders, of various species, appearing in the town of Moonglow. It is suspected that they are originating from the recent sinkhole discovered in the southwest corner of town, next to the Moonglow Inn. I warn all those who are preyed upon by these vile creatures while within the city limits... call upon the guards... after all, don't we pay our taxes for their services?!

Since the appearance of the sinkhole, there has been much concern amongst the citizens and shopkeepers of Moonglow. We are all fearful for the fate of our beautiful city, after the devastation of Haven City nearly a year ago.

Earlier today, I found myself at the healer in a bed next to a brave adventurer who has since passed from this world. I was in a bad way myself, but that was due to my own foolishness. Venturing into a white wyrm's lair... what was I thinking? Anyway, back to the story: I couldn't help but overhear the adventurer talking to the healer during his final moments of life.

Through his pain, I heard excitement in his voice. He spoke of discovering a new land where no human had yet set foot. In his effort to describe what he saw, he mentioned monsters that appeared to be of living gold! Despite the healer's best efforts to save the man, his wounds were too great, and the venom in his veins too concentrated.

As I saw the light leaving his eyes, I asked his name. He turned his head toward me and whispered... Lucas Paragon... then relaxed back against the pillow with such an expression of peace on his face that I know his discovery was the ultimate fulfillment of his adventurous heart.

From this day forward, through this document, all will know of the findings of Lucas Paragon. In his honor, I hereby name the creatures of gold found in this newly discovered land, Paragons.

The healer who attended to our wounds, asked that I petition the brave citizens of PC Realm to band together to find this new land so that we can erect a memorial for Lucas there. However, the lure of a new land cannot be our primary concern!

We must save Moonglow and push the monster's back to prevent the loss of all the cities in Trammel! The spider's have obviously originated from this far-away land, and somehow found a way to tunnel through... we cannot let our cities and citizens succumb to the monster's who threaten to take over all of our lands and annihilate us from existence.

So, let us take up arms and push the monsters back from whence they came!
